* Do you have a budding detective in your family? Bring them to the museum at the Archaeological Park and have them pick up a Mystery Trail booklet and have them solve a fictional theft at the park by walking the trails with you and solving clues. This free activity is aimed at kids 10-15 years. At the end, your detective will receive a Certificate of Achievement for having solved the crime! * We plan to resume building our dugout canoe during several Saturdays in November. We'll be using techniques similar to what Native Americans and other canoe builders worldwide used before the days of metal tools. Watch our Facebook page to learn we'll be burning and chopping.  

* Our next Friends meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 4 pm at the Archaeological Park Museum. This is also out Annual Meeting. All are welcome to attend. It's a great way to find out who we are, what we do, and what we have planned. We're always looking for folks interested in our parks. 

* The annual First Day Hike will be Friday, Jan. 1. This is a national event that seeks to get people on trails and connect with nature. We invite you to visit any of our trails anytime throughout the day. This year, we will not be holding guided walks on our nature trails that day due to a lack of volunteers. We ARE planning to hold guided walks beginning in February. 

* Join Friends for a free daytime guided walk around the Archeological Park. These monthly walks are held the third Saturday of the month from January - April at 2 pm. The first walk is Jan. 16.

*Our next Moon Over the Mounds (MOM) will be Jan. 22. Join Friends for a guided walk around the Archeological Park under an almost full moon (weather permitting). There is a cost for this event. Tickets will be available in mid- December to Friends members and in January to the public.
